A long and challenging day walk, better done as an overnight trek, the Beeripmo Walk is a hiker’s haven for native wildlife spotting amidst the misty mountain scenery of Mount Buangor. There are several entry/access points along the circuit, however Richards Campground is a great starting point from which to walk the trail in either a clockwise (as signposted) or an anticlockwise direction. In both cases, sightings of distant peaks alongside slow-moving echidnas are likely while traversing the undulating fern gullies and eucalypt forests leading to the mountain summit. Autumn and winter months prove chilly but atmospheric.
Sadly, the snow gum forests that surrounded the Beeripmo Walk were devastatingly burned in the February 2024 bushfires and the walk remains closed as of November 2024. More info.
