Jigamy to Pinnacles Trail Launched By Eden Local Aboriginal Land Council

The Eden Local Aboriginal Land Council (Eden LALC) has launched the Jigamy to Pinnacles Trail, an immersive cultural experience that marks a major milestone in the activation of the Bundian Way—one of Australia’s most significant Aboriginal pathways.

The Jigamy to Pinnacles Trail invites visitors to journey through coastal bushland with Country Custodians, sharing the deep cultural histories of the land, ocean, and Bundian Way. Beginning with a traditional smoking ceremony at Jigamy, the experience traverses stunning landscapes before arriving at the breathtaking Pinnacles, a site of immense natural and geological significance.

This launch is the culmination of decades of work by community Elders past, present and emerging, the Eden LALC, its consultants, and dedicated supporters who have worked tirelessly to bring the Bundian Way project to life.

It also signals the beginning of a series of incredible Aboriginal cultural tourism experiences led by Eden LALC.

The project received $7.186 million from the NSW Government.

Minister for Regional NSW, Tara Moriarty, welcomed the opening of the walk.

“This is an exciting step in the development of the Bundian Way into a significant attraction for the South Coast,” Minister Moriarty said.

“The Bundian Way is deeply significant to the Aboriginal people, and I’m pleased everyone will get the opportunity to learn about this beautiful and culturally important part of regional NSW.”

NSW State Minister for Bega, Dr Michael Holland, congratulated Eden LALC on the launch of the Jigamy to Pinnacles Trail.

“It is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the natural beauty of the Bega electorate and acknowledge the tens of thousands of years of connection with our Indigenous community. It will provide a genuine cultural experience that so many locals and visitors are looking for.”

Following these events, the Bilbaan Cultural Experience along the Jigamy to Pinnacles Trail will be available to the public and bookable online via www.bundianway.com.au.
